A New Year full of New Fashion!

Filed under: General — xfrenchx @ 4:16 pm

Hello! As you may have noticed, I got off to a very slow start on this blog in the fall of 2008. Now that the holidays are wrapping up, I plan to dedicate much more time to my blog, and have many new ideas on how to make it more fun for you to visit. I am currently beginning work on my “100 Top Designers List”, a very exciting addition to the blog, as I will cover the best designer’s (according to moi) to work in fashion from the 1800’s all the way until now. Another new addition to my blog will be “Look of the Day” where I will post a look for my viewers to vote on, and I will also be featuring some of the best dressed celebs. I apologize to everyone for the low amount of content at this moment, and I will be making it my priority to create a blog where you will want to visit on a daily basis. If you have any tips and ideas, as well as general comments, feel free to drop me a message. Thank you for your patience and I hope you enjoy my advice and tips to help create a new you for the new year!

  1. Hello Robyne, I finally got around to checking out your blog after you posted it on the Shoes app on Facebook. I really like the way you put it together, with a mix of fashion pieces and fashion how-to’s. I especially liked the post about how to get new season trends without having to redo your entire closet šŸ˜‰ and the Look of the Day feature would be so much fun, kinda like Dress of the Day before it up and disappeared (weird!). Happy New Year and I’ll definitely being stopping by more now that the holiday’s are pretty much done.

P.S. Would you mind if I linked you onto my blog?

  2. Thank you for your wonderful compliments and your interest in my blog. I too can not wait to begin the Look of the Day which was in truth inspired not only by the Dress/Shoe/Handbag of The Day applications on Facebook, but InStyle magazine also does a Look of The Day on their website I believe. I would be very happy for you to link House of French on your blog (which I checked out – it’s wonderful!). If you would like I will link yours on mine as well. Happy New Year Steph! (I was happy to see that you are a fellow Canadian šŸ™‚ )

  3. I’ll definitely link you and wouldn’t mind if you wanted to link me on your blog, too šŸ™‚ thanks for the wonderful comments about my blog, it’s still kinda knew and I’m finally starting to get a feel for it lol. And I’m glad to see you liked my Jane Eyre spread, my book club likes to put looks together after we read the book. That’s pretty cool if your Design class does the same thing. What do you go to school for? Thanks for the permission again šŸ™‚

  4. That is really cool, about the spread with the book … I am currently taking a break from college, but I was studying Fashion Design, I am going back next September and I can’t wait, it was the best time of my life learning all about making clothes! So happy you liked the Parisienne article, I thought it would be helpful as I know a lot of women cannot afford to buy a lot of clothing. I used this same approach for my shopping this season, as I found my financial situation not as nice as previous years lol. So I definately applied those principles and I am very happy I did because although my closet is smaller this season, I love all the pieces I have and I didn’t have to skimp on some of the important things (like some hot boots like the ones by Zanotti – not that I could afford those ones, but y’know, another hot pair of boots or something lol).
